Story

gunde jhallumandi Balaraju (Uday Kiran) is an uneducated guy in a village. He wants to be the president of the village for which the minimum educational qualification is a bachelor degree. Hence he is forced to come to Hyderabad and join a college to pursue the requirement. Neelima (Aditi Sharma) also studies in the same college. In order to avoid the nuisance of love proposals, she tells everybody that she has a boy friend called Rajesh. In turn, Balaraju tells her that he has a girlfriend called Lavanya. The rest of the story is all about how they fall in love.
Artists Performance

Uday Kiran: Uday Kiran has done excellent work in this film. He has put on a bit of weight as per the character demand. His body language as a village boy in the initial part of the film is very good. His histrionics in emotional scenes towards climax are mature. His dialogue delivery has improved tremendously. You will see a completely new Uday Kiran in this film.
gunde jhallumandi Others: Aditi Sharma is pretty good as heroine. Srinivas Reddy has a variety role in this film. Venu Madhav entertains in his typical style. The kid in this film is good. Ajay did a negative role. Dharmavarapu Subramanyam, Jaya Prakash Reddy, Surekha Vani and Ahuti Prasad are adequate.

Technical departments

Story – screenplay – direction: Story of the film is novel. Madan came up with interesting screenplay technique in the film. The way he created Srinivas Reddy character as imaginative friend is of typical Woody Allen style. The 'macha' thread is also interesting. The resounding magic of Golkonda is cleverly used in this story. Direction of the film is a good in parts. Madan could not maintain consistency in the tone of the film. In certain situations the love is projected as a sensible and tender one and in some other situations it is completely commercialized. The concept of 'lovers union' is completely unconvincing.

Other departments:
The major highlight of the film is excellent work done by MM Keeravani for songs and background music. Dialogues written by Madan are good. Cinematography is nice. Editing is alright. Production values are decent.

Analysis: First half of the film is pretty good. The second half is little slow. Gunde Jhallumandi looks very good on the paper and at the script level. The same level finesse could not be brought onto the big screen while executing it. The writer in Madan does an excellent job where as the director Madan could not match up with the writer. The plus points of the film are music and writing. On the flip side, the 'lovers union' thread is unconvincing and screenplay of the sudden appearance of real Rajesh should have been dealt better. Gunde Jhallumandi is a much better film for Uday Kiran in the recent years. And this film has got all ingredients of becoming a minimum guarantee film.

Story:

Anu (Baby Zeeba) and Chanti (Master Anand Vardhan) are childhood friends at Araku Valley. Anu is a daughter of a wealthy government official and Chanti is the son of a poor widow. Anu leaves Chanti at the age of 8 when her parents shift to Vizag. Later on Chanti loses his mother. Mohan Rao (Chandra Mohan) gets hold of Chanti renames him as Venu and adapts him.
Anu (Reema Sen) and Venu (Uday Kiran) grows up at their respective places. Anu finishes her higher studies in Malaysia and returns. Venu does also single-mindedly waits for Anu. Anu starts writing a serial named 'Manasanta Nuvve', which contains her live story, in Swaty magazine hoping that Chanti would read it comes back to her. But she keeps her pen name as Renu, so that her anonymity could be protected (in the serial the heroine's name is Anu and hero's name is Chanti).
The rest of the film is about how Venu aka Chanti and Renu aka Anu would get united at the end.

Performances:
Artists:
Uday Kiran: Uday Kiran is going from strength to strength in his films. His character needs lot of underplaying and he did with the ease. He donned a too-good-to-believe and ever-sacrificing character in this film.
Reema Sen: Reema Sen is demure and livens up her role with the right kind of histrionics.
Tanu Roy: She did a cameo role in this film. Her character is a vital one and she executed her character with finesse.
Sunil: Sunil, who did wonderful role as the sidekick to hero in films like Nuvve Kavali, Chiru Navvuto, Nuvvu Nenu and Nuvvu Naaku Nachav in the past has done wonderful comedy role in this film. His comedy in this film is like oxygen to a serious love story.
Sirivennela: Sirivennela Seetarama Sastry has done a brief meaningful role as an anchor in this film. And that very scene is the vital moment in 'Manasanta Nuvve'. He is natural and his diction is lovely.
Technical Departments:
Story: MS Raju is known for his good taste in selecting right kind of story. His stories are always been good ones, if supported by a brilliant narration and screenplay.
Direction: For a first-timer, VN Aditya has done a commendable job. Some of the scenes prove the brilliant way in which the director has executed them. There are few of melodramatic moments in this film, which he could have handled differently.
Screenplay and Dialogues: Paruchuri brothers have come up with very good dialogues in this film. The screenplay would have been slick in the first half. Screenplay in second half is very gripping and exuberant.
Music: RP Patnaik has come up with another good music for this film. Though he has done a good job, it is overshadowed by the extraordinary work he has done for 'Nuvvu Nenu'. The songs and music are not as good as 'Nuvvu Nenu'.
Songs: Songs in this film are apt. The highlight song of this film is 'Kitakita Talupula', which comes at the right point of story. The first song that was pictured on kids was also very cute. 'Manasanta Nuvve' title song, which comes repeatedly, is also a winner.
Analysis: The first half of the film is average. Second half of the film is pretty good. Comedy in this film is single handedly executed by brilliant Sunil. Songs are good. They made the story complicated by introducing a unnecessary character for Sijju in this film. The film would have become more complete, if they had got rid of melodrama and the routine-climax in the film. Over all this film has got all the ingredients to attract family as well as youth to pull to the theater. It has potential to become a silent hit. We got to wait and see what the Dussera season has in store for this film's box-office fate.
