                              Chit ChatWith  UdayKiran
Uday Kiran created sensation with three straight silver jubilee hits at the time of his debut. After having a bad run at box office later, Uday Kiran took a break from the Telugu film industry for a couple of years and coming back with Viyyala Vari Kayyalu film. His birthday is on 26 June and he enters 26 years on that day.  Here are the excerpts -

Tell us about your latest film Viyyala Vari Kayyalu?
It is an important project for me as I am coming back to Telugu film industry after a 2-year gap. I stopped acting in films as monotony crept into my films and they started doing badly at box office. During that time I was chosen by K Bala Chandar for Poi (Abaddam in Telugu) film. Though it did not fare well at the box office, it was a great opportunity to work with a man of such stature. After that film I have been listening to stories for Telugu. Sridhar narrated two stories to me and I did not like them. The third story is of Viyyala Vari Kayyalu. Sridhar is very fond of the title as it was the title of an old film starring Krishna. It is a total film that is aimed at all segments of audiences. It is not a love story, but a lovely story. Srihari and Sayaji Shinde are playing characters of equal importance. If this film clicks, it will create a healthy trend for more people to make many more films of such genre.

Tell us about your character in Viyyala Vari Kayyalu?
I am doing the role of a hair stylist. I have deviated from my kind of lover-boy-next-door characters. It is a city based character.

How is it like working with senior actor like Srihari?
I was bit hesitant to interact with him on the sets. But he took initiative to make me feel comfortable. He is a selfless man and our combination in the film is going to be highlight.

Are you in for multistarrers?
Yes. I would love to act in multi-hero projects with my contemporaries.

Did you feel insecure during your 2-year gap?
Yes, there was a feeling of insecurity. I am still feeling vulnerable. People have liked my films for their quality and I did not want quantity to dominate quality. Hence I deliberately stayed away searching for right stories. I got immensely popular with my first three silver jubilee hits. I don’t want to create bad impression for the people who liked me by doing bad films.

I was happy for whatever I had gone through. It was a learning process and it made me a better human being. I got tremendous success at the age of 20 and faced failures at the age of 22. Now I am 25 and have a balanced and matured mind. I have gone through the process of falling. Now it is the time for rising.

If you look back at certain unfortunate incidents in your life, do you attribute it to luck or swayam krutaparadham?
I don’t want to attribute it to bad luck. It was a learning experience. I did not have experience, judgment and support while accepting certain projects. I find that my decision to take up the bad project was the reason for the position I am in now.

What about your marriage plans?
There is no pressure on me for marriage now. There is still time. I want to mature myself as human being before entering the wedlock.

Why are you staying away from media?
I am very open to media. But my PR skills are very bad. More over, I did not have any occasion to meet the press as I was not acting in Telugu films for the past two years.

Did you watch any films recently?
I watched Pokiri for five times in theater. I also loved Bommarillu film.

What are your future plans?
I want to do more films and take senior actors as inspiration. Chiranjeevi was at the peak when I was a kid and I grew up watching his films. He is also at the peak even today. I want to be like that. I want to mature as actor and be a long-standing star. I want to grow with the audiences.

What is your next project?
I am working for a film in Tamil now. I have a couple of projects on the anvil in Telugu. I will announce about them very soon.
